Consolidation

Since 1986, with the Political open in Portugal, and most of all, with the opening of the financial activity to private capital, the Espirito Santo Group reinitiated it’s operations in Portugal, investing in the Financial field, real estate, heritage management, tourism, agribusiness, services and communications.

Between 1989 an 1992, the Group concurred successfully to the new privatization of the Espirito Santo and Commercial Bank from Lisbon, and The “Tranquilidade” Insurance Company, regaining that way, after almost a two decade absence from these two important Portuguese institutions that the Group itself founded.

The Espirito Santo Group is now days , one of the most important Portuguese business groups, with solid international activities, placed in three important pillars: A strong base in the international financial market, a great capacity to make successful alliances, and a strong relation of closeness with their employees.
