FORCERPA CONSORTIUM

The Paraguayan Certified Forestry Project –FORCERPA- began with an international partnership signed in 2002 between Golondrina Agricultural Society and Unique Wood Paraguay, technical allied of the project.

The Wood surface under work is divided in five blocks of 400 acres each, together they conform the annual cut planning. In the first five years the Sylvester interventions are made to convert the actual woods into productive and manageable woods.

The plan projects an ecological production, economically and socially sustainable according to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) principals. The FSC certification was obtained through the GFA Terra System.

FORCERPA, making a partnership with GTZ, experimented a mobile saw, to introduce a new technology in order to minimize the amount of pure wood, to be transported outside the usable area. This technique aloud to reduce production costs. The company also incorporated the first solar dryer, the only one in Paraguay until now.

The FSC certification, the custosy chain, and que quality of the production, attend to the most demanding criteria and market specifications, as Europe and the US; these regions are importing FORCERPA’s wood today.
