Agricultural Activity

GES acquired Finca Golondrina with 24.000 acres for this only agricultural matter in it’s first fase, with and industrial projection in it’s second fase, occupying a very helpful land for developing this goal. A Subtropical weather, with an annual rain amount of 2.000 millimetres, profound soils, with a sandy and red texture because of the natural iron, and with a varied vegetal cover.

In the first step of Golondrina’s work, the agricultural areas were mechanized. In this same period, from 1977 to 1980 many agricultural experiments and essays were made in order to obtain “in situ” information about the most adaptable plat species for the region.

Agriculture

Since 1997 Golondrina has been searching for new alternatives for the cotton seed production, planting in that year over 2.000 acres in the Guayaybi zone, on San Pedro state, for 1999/2000 campain they planted 720 acres in Agua Dulce, Paraguayan Chaco, and for 2000/2001 campain 350 acres.

Industrial Activity

In 1994 the investment Project for a cotton process plant, produced in Golondrina, in order to sell the fiber itself and processing the seeds.

In february of 1997, another seed acid process machine was bought, it’s capacity was of 1,5 tons an hour. This was the first unit of these characteristics placed in Paraguay.

Country Tourism

Thinking about an activity that would make the public know about the production and conservational work, the Golondrina Residence is created, along with some bungalows with all the basic comforts and an excellent service. The Ypeti Reserve, and the agricultural work are the main attractions of this touristic place. The routes around the Ypeti Natural Reserve and the agricultural areas are made with the company of a trained forest ranger, who can explain to the tourists about all of their possibilities at “Finca Golondrina”. The reservations for visiting the Finca Golondrina, are made through de Reservation office at the Touring Club, or contacting directly with the office at Haras La Paz.
